Starting School
Starting school is an exciting milestone for children and families, and we are committed to making the transition as smooth, positive and enjoyable as possible.
We know that beginning school can bring a mixture of excitement, anticipation and sometimes a few worries too. Our experienced Early Years team works closely with families to help every child feel happy, confident and ready for their first day.
Starting school in September? We'll provide plenty of opportunities for your child to visit, meet staff, explore their new classroom and become familiar with school routines before they begin.

Getting to Know Your Child
Before children join us, we take time to learn about their interests, strengths and individual needs. This helps us create a positive start to school life and ensures that every child feels welcomed and valued from day one.
Transition visits and meetings with families help us understand:
- Your child's interests and personality
- Previous nursery or pre-school experiences
- Any additional needs or support requirements
- Your hopes and aspirations for your child
- Any questions or concerns you may have
Every child is unique. We use what we learn during transition to plan personalised support and help children settle quickly into school life.
Working Together
A strong partnership between home and school is one of the most important factors in helping children thrive. We encourage regular communication and provide many opportunities for families to become involved in school life.
- Meet regularly with teachers
- Attend workshops and information sessions
- Join school events and celebrations
- Receive updates about their child's progress and learning
Have a question? Please get in touch with the school office. We are always happy to help and support families preparing for their child's first year at school.
