Music

Music is an important part of school life, with opportunities for all children to explore instruments and develop an appreciation of the enjoyment music can bring.

Across the school, pupils learn to play a range of percussion instruments and take part in regular singing sessions.

In Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4), children receive weekly strings tuition, learning either the violin or mini-cello. In Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6), they can continue with their chosen instrument and have the opportunity to join the school orchestra.

Additional Music Lessons

Instrumental lessons are available through Wandsworth Music, the borough’s specialist music service, which provides high-quality tuition in schools.

Lessons are typically 30 minutes long and can be taken individually or in small groups, with a range of instruments available. Teaching takes place during the school day.
