Admission of Pupils with SEN
At Tooting Primary School, we believe that every child, regardless of their ability or level of need, has the right to access a broad and balanced curriculum and can succeed in an environment where they feel safe and valued.
Parents of a child with additional needs should apply for a school place through the Wandsworth admissions service.
A small number of children may have needs that result in an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) being issued. The admissions process for children with an EHCP is different, parents will need to ask their EHCP case officer to “Consult” for placement.
The Discovery Zone
The Discovery Zone is a specialist resource base for pupils with an EHCP and a diagnosis of autism. It provides a structured, supportive environment with personalised learning and a focus on communication, social development and emotional regulation. Admissions are managed through Wandsworth SNAS. Parents should ask their EHCP case officer to consult for a placement. Only pupils allocated a place through this process can access the base.
