Funding & Additional Support

Additional government funding helps us provide enhanced opportunities, targeted support and enriching experiences that enable every child to thrive.

Schools receive a number of different funding streams to support pupils' achievement, wellbeing and personal development. We use these funds carefully to remove barriers to learning, widen opportunities and ensure all children can succeed.

How funding is used

All additional funding is spent strategically to improve outcomes for pupils, enhance learning experiences and provide targeted support where it is needed most.

Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to help schools support disadvantaged pupils and close gaps in attainment and opportunity.

Funding may be allocated for children who:

  • Are currently eligible for Free School Meals
  • Have been eligible for Free School Meals within the last six years
  • Are looked after or previously looked after by a local authority
  • Have a parent serving in the armed forces

We use Pupil Premium funding to provide targeted support and opportunities including:

  • Additional support in reading, writing and mathematics
  • Targeted intervention programmes
  • Additional classroom support
  • Educational visits and enrichment activities
  • Music tuition and wider curriculum opportunities
  • Support with school uniform and essential equipment
  • Pastoral and wellbeing support
